After the struggle
When I’m watching nature, I see scenes that have been in the past, are still ongoing or will happen. A tree that had a difficult time growing, birds that are building their nest or flowers that will flourish within a short time.
I’ll have to admit that I had to awaken to be a witness of all this beauty. I always have treated nature with respect as well as possible, but since I can call myself an (amateur) photographer, it has become meditating-like when I try to capture Mother Nature’s beauty.
When I took this photo, I was struck by the bright yellow petals, but also by the branches/stems that were standing so powerful waved. As if they dealt with a tough battle and survived. And when they won the struggle, they finally got the opportunity to bloom in beauty. I’m not a biologist, but that’s what I’m observing when I’m making the picture half-meditating.
Do I see it the right way or do I have too much imagination?
While I was writing this little piece and was watching the photo, I had to think of the beautiful videoclip of the great song Running up that Hill performed by Kate Bush.. It’s dreamy, it’s about struggle and created by someone who is blessed with a lot of imagination:
